Nicolas Lescureux (PhD) is a researcher at CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), working at CEFE (Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology) in Montpellier. His research interests are on local ecological knowledge construction in interaction with animal behavior and ecology. He is focusing on the reciprocal influence between human communities and animal populations on various timescales, from upheaval in human-animal relationships following political transformations (countries in transition, wildlife coming back) to phenomenon such as animal domestication. Part of his research is focused on anthropological aspects of biodiversity conservation and rewilding.
